Asthi is hardest of all dhatu. It is the last dhatu in decomposition. it is composed of pruthvi, vayu and agni mahabhoota. Dharan– Support, Posture, Gait, Samrakshan – Protection, Chankramana – Locomotion, Majja poshana , and Vyadhi kshamatva – Immunity (resistivity to disease) are its major actions in the body.
