Anga Prathyanga

Development of every minute body parts in fetal life is discussed here. Acharya susruta, explained shukra of male and shonita of female when get united in the garbhashaya they acquire the name garbha (Embryo) and when the products of coneption are designed well, with different parts like hasta (Hands), pada (legs), jiwha (tongue), ghrana (nose), karna (ear), nitamba (buttocks) etc., then it is known as shareera- the Fetus.And this shareera is shadanga shareera.The body as a whole is known as Anga, again it has six angas (major parts)- the head, the trunk, to arms and two legs;eyes , umbilicus, hands , feet and such others are the pratyangas.

•Acharya susruta, explained shukra of male and shonita of female when get united in the garbhashaya they acquire the name garbha (Embryo) and when the products of conception are designed well, with different parts like hasta (Hands), pada (legs), jiwha (tongue), ghrana (nose), karna (ear), nitamba (buttocks) etc., then it is known as shareera- the Fetus And this shareera is shadanga shareera.
•avayava (parts) of the angas are known as pratyaga.
•Sira, udara, prusta, nabhi, lalata, nasa, chibuka, basti and greeva, these are one-one; karna, netra, bhru, shankha, amsa, ganda, kaksha, stana, vrushana, parshwa, nitamba, janu, bahu, uru,etc.
are two- two in number; twenty angulis and 11 pairs of srotuses these all are pratyangavibhaga. 
  1. sushruta and charaka have one opinion that all the organs are formed at once in minute form, hence not visible.
  2. Shounaka - Shiras as it is the mula of all pradhana indriyas.
  3.  Krtavirya – Hrudaya being the sthana of budhi and manas.
  4.  Parashara – Nabhi because deha develops from it.
  5.  Markandeya - Panipada since it is the mula for cheshta of garbha.
  6.  Subhuti Goutama - Madhya shareera as the whole body is attached to it.
  7. Dhanwantari - All Angapratyangas develop simultaneously but cannot be observed due to minuteness just like vamshankura or chutaphala.
