The word Sandhi means, where any similar type of two structure meet with each other, like Asthisandhi, Siraasandhi, Pesheesandhi, Snaayusandhi etc. In relation to this chapter Sandhi means- union of two or more bones.According to Sushruta there are 210 sandhis. they are divided in to Ceshtavanta and sthira (means mobile and immobile).
