The wor darshana indicates different view points or attitudes about life and its goal. It is a part of ancient schools of knowledge in India. When the study of Veda became ritualistic and the real essence was lost, some thinkers believed, there is no need of depending on vedas, and they became nastikas.Charvaka is the true nastika darshana, which does not even accept paraloka. bouddha and jaina also comes under this. some phylosophers found different ways to regain the essence of vedas, and also they accept life after birth. They are grouped under aasthika darshana.Mainly they are six called Shat darshana.
